After months of development, we finally have what we consider to be the ultimate conductive thread. It's thin, strong, smooth, and made completely of 316L stainless steel. Once you start working with this thread you'll quickly agree its optimal for any wearables work!
Conductive thread is a creative way to connect various electronics onto clothing. This thread can carry current for power and signals. While not as conductive as traces on a printed circuit board (PCB), this thread makes wearable clothing ‘wearable’!
This thread is stainless steel making it extremely tarnish resistant. This thread is a 2-ply thread and may be small enough to be compatible with some sewing machines.
This thread has a resistance of about 12.4 Ohms per linear meter and weighs about 0.542m/g.
Because it is made of stainless steel fibers, it will not oxidize like silver does: your projects will not 'stop working' because of oxidation after a few months and its safe to wash. However, this thread is a little 'stiff', it feels a little like 'waxed thread' and is not ideal for making iPhone-compatible gloves.
